<---ive been playing pokemon since 2007. my first game was diamond.
i like pokemon for a number of reasons. the nostalgia is a big factor, of course, but
i also enjoy the pokemon as a manifestation of data; within lines of code on your gameboy or ds
or whatever lives the soul of a creature, a soul you manifested yourself.
humans have to the ability to conjure value and meaning from trivial things, and are always making connections.
on a less philosophical bent, i also just like collecting things and watching numbers go up,
and pokemon facilitates that for me
